Rogue
This is Rogue. Our 42ft. aft cabin which I am cruising from St. Petersburg Fl. to my home port in Chestertown Md., off the Chesapeake bay.
This should be quite an adventure as I have never cruised this far before, about 1200 miles, and this is the first time I have piloted this boat, other than a short day excursion in the Gulf of Mexico in January. There is excitement, but also a bit of trepidation as well. There has been much written about the dreaded ICW and hazards it presents, mostly groundings and currents. I have done a great deal of reading, and have various tools at my disposal to identify where potential problems might present themselves. So I guess I'm as ready as I will ever be.
I will be leaving my wife at home for about a month while I, with some help from a few good friends will cruise her back home. The expected departure date is May 5th, and the expected travel time will be about 22 days, which doesn't account for delays for weather, mechanical problems, or an extended stay somewhere to get provisions, fuel, and do some laundry. Yes, we can't wear the same clothes over and over, or as the song says, "I went to the closet and found my cleanest dirty shirt..."
So, stay tuned, I will try to keep you updated when I can, given WIFI access, on our progress.
